Profile: Buriti oil has a very unique profile and intense amber colour. It is the world's richest natural source of beta-carotene (Vitamin A / Retinol), exceeding carrot seed oil. Buriti oil rebuilds and hydrates skin cells and protects natural collagen and elastin while restoring moisture to sun-damaged skin. It can be used as a natural bronzer and studies have shown effectiveness as a natural sunblock.

Application: Recommended for use as a weekly skin treatment for sun damaged or mature skin, as a light-medium UV absorber, as a skin replenisher after heavy sun exposure, or as an additive to other skin care oils to increase their utility and vitamin A content.

Precautions: Avoid contact with light clothing due to the high beta-carotene content as it can stain. Aguaje fruits are known as the fruit of life and contain substantial phytoestrogens. They are particularly popular for women to eat in the Amazon region for concentrated vitamins, to help balance hormones and support a feminine body shape. Due to the phytoestrogens, we recommend against using Aguaje Oil if you are pregnant until more conclusive research is undertaken. That being said, there are many far more suspect ingredients in widely used chemical cosmetic products that should carry warning labels, particularly for pregnant women, but do not.
