Cultivated in the fresh alpine valleys in the Cusco region of Peru, it is known locally as Hierba Luisa and is popularly used for herbal tea for digestive problems and high blood pressure. Lemongrass essential oil is recommended for aromatherapy relief from stress, anxiety and depression as well as an ingredient for muscle aches.

Lemongrass is used as a natural astringent and anti-bacterial. Used in products for tightening skin and limiting sebum production. Ideal as an ingredient for oily or acne-prone skin.
